Story Summary
In the aftermath of Duryodhana's fall, Ashwatthama is consumed by grief and rage. Having lost his father Drona earlier in the war and now witnessing the death of his closest friend, he makes a vow of terrible revenge. Joined by Kripa and Kritavarma, the three surviving Kaurava warriors plan a night attack on the sleeping Pandava camp. Despite moral objections from his companions, Ashwatthama's resolve is unshakeable, setting in motion the events that will lead to the massacre of sleeping warriors and the darkest moment of the epic.
