Bhagavad Gita Chapter 9, Verse 1
श्रीभगवानुवाच | इदं तु ते गुह्यतमं प्रवक्ष्याम्यनसूयवे | ज्ञानं विज्ञानसहितं यज्ज्ञात्वा मोक्ष्यसेऽशुभात् ||
śrī bhagavān uvāca idaṁ tu te guhyatamaṁ pravakṣyāmy anasūyave jñānaṁ vijñāna-sahitaṁ yaj jñātvā mokṣyase 'śubhāt
The Supreme Lord said: I shall now declare to you, who are not envious, this most confidential knowledge, together with realization. Knowing this, you will be freed from inauspiciousness.
Krishna reveals the most confidential knowledge (guhyatamam) about the Supreme. He addresses Arjuna as 'anasuyave'—one who is not envious, ready to receive this teaching. This is royal knowledge (raja vidya) and royal secret (raja guhya)—the highest knowledge that leads to liberation. It's not just theoretical knowledge (jnana)—it's knowledge with realization (vijnana-sahitam), practical wisdom that transforms life. Those who understand this become freed (moksyase) from inauspiciousness (asubhat)—from suffering, bondage, and the cycle of birth and death. This isn't intellectual knowledge—it's experiential wisdom that liberates.
