Bhagavad Gita Chapter 7, Verse 29
जरामरणमोक्षाय मामाश्रित्य यतन्ति ये | ते ब्रह्म तद्विदुः कृत्स्नमध्यात्मं कर्म चाखिलम् ||
jarā-maraṇa-mokṣāya mām āśritya yatanti ye te brahma tadviduḥ kṛtsnam adhyātmaṁ karma cākhilam
Those who strive for liberation from old age and death, taking refuge in Me, they come to know the Supreme Absolute, the entirety of the spiritual and material worlds, and the complete spectrum of actions.
Krishna describes those who take refuge to overcome birth and death. 'Jarā-maraṇa-mokṣāya mām āśritya yatanti ye'—those who strive for liberation from old age and death, taking refuge in Me. 'Te brahma tadviduḥ kṛtsnam adhyātmaṁ karma cākhilam'—they come to know the Supreme Absolute, the entirety of the spiritual and material worlds, and the complete spectrum of actions. This verse shows that taking refuge in Krishna leads to complete knowledge—not just spiritual knowledge, but understanding of the spiritual and material worlds, and all actions. Liberation from birth and death comes through taking refuge and knowing completely. This connects to verse 7.28's teaching about worshipping with firm resolve and prepares for verse 7.30 where Krishna will describe those who know Him as everything.
