Krishna concludes Chapter 3 with the secret of conquering desire. Know yourself as buddheḥ param—the Self beyond intellect. From there, steady the mind through saṁstabhyātmānam ātmanā—using pure awareness to control the restless self. Then slay kāma-rūpam, desire itself. Why does this work when willpower fails? Because you're not fighting desire from within it (impossible), but watching it from beyond (durāsadam—difficult, but possible from Self-awareness).
How this ancient wisdom applies to your daily life

The secret: you can't calm ocean waves by grabbing them, only by watching from shore. Same with desire—fighting it from within keeps you trapped. But establish as pure awareness watching the craving, and desire loses its power. It's not about becoming stronger than desire, but standing where desire can't reach you—buddheḥ param, beyond the mind itself.

Where are you fighting a battle from inside the problem? What if you stepped back and watched it from awareness—what would shift?
