Bhagavad Gita Chapter 18, Verse 46
यतः प्रवृत्तिर्भूतानां येन सर्वमिदं ततम् | स्वकर्मणा तमभ्यर्च्य सिद्धिं विन्दति मानवः ||
yataḥ pravṛttir bhūtānāṁ yena sarvam idaṁ tatam svakarmaṇā tam abhyarcya siddhiṁ vindati mānavaḥ
By performing one's own duty, one worships Him from whom all beings have come and by whom all this is pervaded, and thus attains perfection.
Krishna explains how perfection is attained through one's own duty. 'Yataḥ pravṛttir bhūtānāṁ yena sarvam idaṁ tatam'—from whom (yataḥ) all beings have come (pravṛttiḥ bhūtānām), by whom (yena) all this (sarvam idam) is pervaded (tatam). 'Svakarmaṇā tam abhyarcya siddhiṁ vindati mānavaḥ'—by performing one's own duty (svakarmaṇā), one worships (abhyarcya) Him (tam), and thus attains (vindati) perfection (siddhim), O person (mānavaḥ). This is the key teaching: when you perform your own duty, you're actually worshipping the Supreme, from whom all beings have come and by whom all this is pervaded. Your duty is not separate from the Supreme—it's a way of serving and worshipping. By performing your own duty with devotion, you worship the Supreme and attain perfection. This is the path: your own duty becomes worship, and through worship, you attain perfection.
