Varuna Mudra (Water Mudra)

About This Mudra

Varuna Mudra, named after Varuna, the Vedic deity of water and oceans, is a powerful hand gesture that balances the water element (Jala Tattva) in the body. The little finger represents the water element in hasta mudra science, and by connecting it with the thumb (representing fire/consciousness), we activate and balance the body's fluid systems. This mudra is highly beneficial for maintaining proper hydration, improving skin texture and glow, and treating conditions caused by water deficiency in the body. According to ancient Ayurvedic wisdom, proper water balance is essential for healthy skin, joint lubrication, kidney function, and overall vitality. Regular practice of Varuna Mudra helps overcome dryness, reduces skin ailments, and promotes the smooth flow of bodily fluids including blood and lymph.
