Bhagavad Gita Chapter 1, Verse 25
भीष्मद्रोणप्रमुखतः सर्वेषां च महीक्षिताम् | उवाच पार्थ पश्यैतान्समवेतान्कुरूनिति ||
bhīṣma-droṇa-pramukhataḥ sarveṣāṁ ca mahīkṣitām uvāca pārtha paśyaitān samavetān kurūn iti
In the presence of Bhishma, Drona and all the kings, Krishna said: 'O Arjuna, see these Kurus gathered here!'
Krishna makes a strategic move. He parks the chariot directly in front of Bhishma and Drona — Arjuna's revered teachers and father-figures. He does not say 'look at the army,' he says 'see the Kurus' — your own family. This forces Arjuna to see that this is not an abstract conflict — these are grandfathers, teachers, cousins. Krishna deliberately intensifies the crisis. True clarity sometimes requires facing uncomfortable truths head-on, not avoiding them. Good guides do not always make things easier — sometimes they make us confront the very thing we are avoiding.
