The Story of Rama
“An ancient sage shares an epic. A prince's exile. A path that mirrors their own.”
Story Summary
Sage Markandeya, having already shared many stories with the Pandavas, now tells them the greatest story of all—the Ramayana. He narrates how Prince Rama, the divine incarnation of Vishnu, was sent into exile for fourteen years due to palace intrigue, accompanied by his devoted wife Sita and loyal brother Lakshmana. When Sita is abducted by the demon king Ravana, Rama embarks on an epic quest with the help of the monkey army led by Hanuman. After a great war, Rama triumphs, rescues Sita, and returns to rule Ayodhya. Markandeya tells this story to show the Pandavas that even divine beings face trials, that exile is temporary, and that dharma ultimately triumphs. The parallels to their own situation are clear, offering hope that their exile too will end in victory.
