The Conquests
“Four directions. Five brothers. The path to empire.”
Story Summary
With Jarasandha defeated and the path cleared, Yudhishthira's Rajasuya sacrifice requires one more thing: the subjugation of kingdoms in all four directions. The five Pandava brothers divide the task, each leading campaigns to different regions. Arjuna heads north, Bhima south, Sahadeva south again, Nakula west, and they conquer numerous kingdoms—some through diplomacy, others through battle. Tributes flow into Indraprastha: gold, jewels, horses, elephants, and the allegiance of kings. This condensed story shows representative conquests across the four directions, demonstrating the Pandavas' growing power and preparing for the grand Rajasuya ceremony that will establish Yudhishthira as emperor of all Bharat.
